Super lady IAS B Chandrakala from UP joins PM Narendra Modi’s DreamTeam..

Na main gandagi karoonga, na main gandagi karne doonga’ (I shall not litter and won’t allow anyone to do so), Prime Minister has repeated this slogan many a times and also requested the people to involve themselves wholeheartedly in the Clean India Mission (Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan).

Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan is Modi’s dream project and he want to make this dream true by 2019 as a tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 150th birth anniversary. He also instructed the government officials to encourage the public through awareness programmes to make this initiative more effective.

In a recent development related to Clean India campaign, District Magistrate of Meerut, B Chandrakala Niru, has become a part of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream team. It seems that her honesty at work was recognized by Prime Minister and has earned her a reward.

Chandrakala has now been appointed as the Director of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan and Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Chandrakala has worked extensively for Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan as the District Majistrate of Bijnor, Bulandshahr, and Meerut.

Later the government at centre has appreciated her efforts to make Bijnor an ‘Open Defecation Free’ district. Including Bijnor, 109 gram panchayat of Meerut was also declared ‘Open Defecation Free’ because of her efforts. The gram pradhaans were also honoured.

In 2014, the 2008 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Chandrakala became famous in the social media after she publicly pulled up civic officials and contractors for sub-standard road construction and other civil works.

The 2008 batch firebrand IAS officer and the youngest in the Modi’s dream team hails from Telangana and her continuous efforts to abolish corruption brought her big laurels in the bureaucratic circles.

Known for taking tough stand against illegal practices is very active on Social media and believes that there should be total transparency between public and the public servants.
