Will the Congress- JDS Government collapse? Well!! Whatever is happening right now within the coalition Government formed by overthrowing the people’s mandate suggests so. It has not been long that the cabinet expansion is done in state of Karnataka, the internal cracks in the coalition Government have started to become visible.
The party leaders and their followers upset with the portfolio allocation are raging revolt against the Congress party specially against the working president of the party Dinesh Gundu Rao and deputy CM G Parmeshwara. Yesterday MLA NA Haris’ supporters held protest outside the party office demanding ministerial berth for him.Today, Ramalinga Reddy and MB Patil’s supporters are holding protest demanding cabinet berths for them.
The ongoing tension has also been strengthened due to the transfer of Assistant Commissioner for North Division in the Bangalore development authority, who was close aide of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Siddaramaiah’s close aide Jagdish has been replaced by LC Nagaraj, who is a close associate of CM Kumaraswamy and Deputy CM Dr G Parameshwara.
Earlier also one of the Senior Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi, who is upset over not being made a Minister, has decided to seek relief from his party responsibilities by resigning from the post of All India Congress Committee secretary. He told that he would resign from the AICC post in two days.
He also said, “There are many leaders in Karnataka who have the potential to become the Chief Minister. I’m one among them. Vested interests in the party have kept us out of the Cabinet to make sure that we don’t grow. I’m a leader with enough influence to make other MLAs Ministers. But if I myself don’t become a Minister, what does it mean? It has affected my self-esteem, When I’m not able to become a Minister and when I’m not powerful enough to help my followers become Ministers, what is the use of being an AICC secretary?”. He further said that even if the party will give him cabinet post now, he will not accept because the party has insulted him.
The CM H.D Kumaraswamy worried over the situation is visiting the upset MLAs to assure them not to raise the banner of revolt and to specify them that in next expansion of cabinet they will be included.
The Congress leaders instead of working for the people of the state, instead of looking at the vision how Karnataka can be taken further for development path are busy fighting with each other, scheming against each other and planning how to cut short each other. How they will provide stable government to people? And How long they can hold to such shaking alliance?
