The next 20 hrs are very crucial for the state of Karnataka! Will BJP be able to show the numbers or will it be toppled by Congress& JDS?

To put an end to the political drama which is going on in Karnataka, The Apex Court today has ordered that the BS Yeddyurappa led BJP Government has to prove its strength on the floor of Karnataka Assembly tomorrow at 4 PM. The top court has taken this decision against the petition filed by the Congress-JD(S) combine challenging the decision of Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala to invite the BJP to form the government in the State.

The three judge bench comprising Justices Arjun Kumar Sikri, Sharad Arvind Bobde and Ashok Bhushan has also ordered that the secret ballot will not be used and the floor test will be held via a show of hands. The bench added that the protem (temporary speaker appointed by Governor) speaker will be appointed and MLAs would have to take the oath first before the floor test.

With the passing of judgement by Supreme Court, the time has started ticking for all the parties. The remaining time (Less than 24 hours) is very crucial for Congress, Janta Dal(JDS)  and Bhartiya Janta Party Government. The questions that are popping up at this time in everybody’s mind is, Will BJP be able to prove the majority? Are they having enough numbers or Will Congress-JDS alliance topple BJP this time?

The political drama in Karnataka is taking twists and turns and is an all-time high with several speculations going around in media from the last 3 days.

  • The top Congress leader D.K Shivakumar joining BJP with 5 other MLAs and 2 independent candidates
  • Some of the MLAs from JDS  are not in favour of Congress & JDS alliance
  • Congress Lingayat MLAs threatening to quit the party
  • Elected Congress MLAs from Hyderabad Karnataka region are not in touch with the party
  • 12 Congress MLAs and 2 JDS MLAs didn’t reach their party meetings
  • MLAs signatures missing from the document

The Karnataka Elections have it all. Not only this even the happenings in Karnataka Elections has also led to the resort politics, knocking on doors of Supreme Court at midnight and political upheaval in the other states of Goa, Manipur and Bihar.

The battlefield has become more interesting with the ongoing happenings making more stunning revelations. Latest revelations by the scoop conducted by RepublicWorld also hints at 5 Congress MLAs and 3 JDS MLAs are meeting BJP leaders in Delhi along with the sources stating that only about 65 Congress MLAs are present with the group in Hyderabad. And even the latest statement by JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy on the floor test “Not in hurry”, and his presence in the same hotel where BS Yeddyurappa was also present has led to further suspicion in the minds of people as if there still exists any possibility between the BJP and JDS. Even the news is also making rounds that 6 Congress MLAs may abstain from voting.

With the time coming near, more and more political developments are yet to evolve and worth to watch as to what way they lead to? The Congress on one side is claiming that they have support of 118 MLAs and BJP don’t have numbers  while on the other side is also accepting that some of their MLAs are abducted. Seems it is not clear with the Congress party as they do have the majority numbers or not. While on the other hand the BJP seems to be more confident with the numbers as Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who is representing the BJP has made the statement in the court that we have the majority as we are having support from the opposition leaders who are not happy with alliance but at this point of time we can’t reveal their names and will show it on the floor.

But still in the game of politics, nothing can be predicted beforehand. Even the trusted one’s can ditch you at any moment. Let’s wait and watch who has the real numbers? For which party the surprise is waiting tomorrow? Which party will be finally able to win the state of Karnataka?
