The filing of the chargesheet comes just over a week after P Chidambaram and Karti Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail in the cases filed by the CBI and ED in 2011 and 2012 respectively was extended till August 7. At that time, the Enforcement Directorate had said that it was necessary to perform a custodial interrogation of the former Finance Minister.

A week before that, the court had allowed the ED to place a document running into almost 3600 pages in support of its charge sheet against Karti Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis case. In that charge sheet, P Chidambaram had been named on multiple occasions but not as an accused.

As far back as March & June itself had exposed how FIPB had become Family Interest Promotion Board – Today We are vindicated – CBI submits a supplementary charge sheet in Aircel-Maxis case against P Chidambaram, Karti and others as accused – proof of 12 more such cases

We all have noticed a point that whenever any development happens against the Chidambaram’s Dynasty, the very next day P Chidambaram writes an article criticising the Narendra Modi Government and economic policies. How many more chargesheet against this father-son duo? When will they be permanently put behind bars?

Talking about the Aircel-Maxis case, which arose from the 2G spectrum allocation scam, pertains to FIPB clearances being given to Global Communication Holding Services Limited for investment in Aircel during the time that P Chidambaram was the Finance Minister.
