What is the truth behind Dr Subramanian Swamy saying “I am Brahmin, Brahmins can’t be Chowkidars”

I cannot become a Chowkidar because I am Brahmin. Brahmins can’t be chowkidars. It’s a fact. I will give orders that the Chowkidars have to execute. That’s what everyone expects from the appointed Chowkidars. So, I cannot be one!

This statement of Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Subramanian Swamy is doing rounds in the media since last few hours and the liberals who said that they want to smash Brahmanical patriarchy are targeting BJP and Hindus. But the reality is something else and Dr Swamy didn’t try to create rift between castes or show his caste supremacy.

Many other anti-Modi journalists interpreted Dr Swamy’s statement as an open rebel against PM Modi. But when we researched on this statement of Dr Subramanian Swamy, we found out that the statement of his was twisted for political mileage by the anti-Modi brigade.

When this statement started to spread like wild fire, Dr Swamy himself stepped in to clarify. He said “Because by training I am a Guru. Chowkidar is there to prevent something bad from happening. Guru suggests how good can happen”.

We all have heard about Chanakya, who was also a Brahmin. Even he didn’t guard his territory by holding weapons but created lakhs of Chowkidars to safeguard the people. Even Dr Swamy was giving the same example. During Indira Gandhi’s Emergency Era, he was living in disguise and was inspiring the people to fight against the anarchy. He was exactly speaking about the same this time and not of any caste supremacy.

Dr Swamy also added “I have never believed in birth based Varna. Hence I talk of what Krishna said in Gita: My Gunas make me an intellectual. U prosecute the corrupt/chors using my brains”.

As this is the election season, there are chances that many more twisted statements like these may come up. But the Indian voters must be alert and expose the people behind these dirty game of spreading caste based hatred.
