Where is women’s safety? Congress leader in Madhya Pradesh accused of rape, case registered in Bhopal

The Congress party is landing in one after another trouble just ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Now the Madhya Pradesh Congress leader’s name has come up in a rape case. Yes, a case has been reported against  Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Bhopal Municipal Corporation Mohammed Saghir after a woman alleged that she was raped by him.

ANI reported “On the basis of a complaint from a woman, police has registered a case under sections 376 (Punishment for rape) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against Congress leader Mohammed Saghir”.

Note that in the year 2016 Mohammed Saghir had issued a notice with newspaper cuttings to Mayor Alok Sharma stating a news item quoted the mayor saying that Saghir was mentally sick and BMC administration is ready to bear expenses of his treatment.

This is not the first time where the Congress leaders’ names were heard in sexual harassment case. Last year, a senior member of Congress IT cell named Chirag Patnaik was accused of harassing a women who worked in the party office. It was said that in the absence of Congress social media head Ramya a.k.a Divya Spandana, Chirag was leading the team.

The lady who was harassed by Chirag had said “Between April 4, 2018 and May 23, 2018, on many occasions, under the pretext of checking tweets, Patnaik violated my personal space by coming too close to me, while I was busy busy concentrating on my computer screen, Patnaik encircled me from behind in a manner most immoral, pretending to check the tweets”.

Other than this, even the NSUI President Fairoz Khan had harassed a girl from his party. Sadly Rahul Gandhi never gave a public statement on condemning these acts. Now the Congress party is claiming that women’s safety is its prime motive but Indians are not ready to believe it.
