While Modi govt is decreasing fuel price since months, Congress-JDS Govt in Karnataka makes a huge increase of tax on petrol and diesel

It has been more than a month but the Modi government hasn’t let the petrol and diesel increase even a single paisa. It all started on October 4th when the Modi government cut the petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.50 each. The central government instructed the BJP ruled states to do the same. So at one go petrol and diesel prices were reduced Rs 5 each. Unfortunately the Congress and allies ruled states refused to do so and proved that they are not ready to give “Achhe Din” to the people.

Now a shocking report has come out where the Congress JDS ruled government in Karnataka has made a huge hike in Petrol and diesel tax rates. ANI report said “Karnataka: Tax rates on petrol and diesel have been revised to 32% and 21% from 28.75% and 17.73%, respectively. The prices now stand at Rs 70.84/litre for petrol and Rs 64.66/ litre for diesel”.

Months ago after the Congress and JD (S) alliance was formed in Karnataka, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is also the habitual liar, had put up a challenge to PM Modi saying “Reduce Fuel prices or the Congress will do a nationwide agitation and force you to do so. I look forward to your response.#FuelChallenge”.

And we all know, PM Modi takes up challenges quite seriously. Now petrol prices are lowest. But Rahul Gandhi exposed his own hypocrisy by increasing the fuel prices. Note that when the Manmohan Singh government had come to power in 2004, the petrol price was about Rs 36 but when he left the office in 2014 the prices had more than doubled.

In the month of July 2018 Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy said that the tax on petrol will be increased to 32 per cent from 30 per cent currently and diesel rate will be up to 21 per cent from present 19 per cent.
