The BSP supremo Mayawati has a history of joining hands with her rivals just for the greed of power. This she proved once again as she has decided to create a “Gathbandhan” with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi party so that she could keep her presence alive in national politics.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, none of the BSP candidates could win even a single seat in Uttar Pradesh due to the Modi wave that was strongly prevailing in the state. Even the Samajwadi party could win just 5 seats and the Congress party had won 2 seats whereas the BJP had won 71 seats. So the party that sweeps Uttar Pradesh will rule Delhi, this is an unwritten fact.
Now that SP and BSP have made an alliance due to the fear of PM Modi led BJP and also due to the greed of power, few of the Congress supported journalists have started their propaganda saying BJP will face a pathetic defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
So, is this true?
There is every chance that this theory might completely fail. Let’s discus why. Today the SP and BSP announced that they will fight in 38 Lok Sabha seats each. So out of 80 seats, the SP and BSP alliance will be present in 76 seats.
So while distributing the tickets, any one among SP or BSP aspirants should be given. So if a leader from SP is given ticket then BSP leader might contest independently. And if BSP leader is given ticket then SP leader might contest independently.
Let us also not forget the fact that there will be atleast more than 2 ticket aspirants form each party at most of the constituencies. So more the ticket aspirants, more trouble for the SP and BSP alliance. If the rebel candidates contest elections, then the votes will get divided and this will directly benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Upon that there is the Congress party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party had garnered over 7 percent vote shares so even this time the Congress party will field their candidates or else it will be an embarrassment for themselves. So even the Congress candidates will divide the votes and will help the BJP.
Note that the Upper caste Hindus who were angry with the BJP are back after the 10 percent reservation declaration. Last but not the least the Ram Mandir trump card is still in the game. So it is wrong to claim that the BJP will face a disastrous defeat in Uttar Pradesh.
