Yogi Adityanath draws massive plan to develop Uttar Pradesh including 15 new airports

Big industrial hubs, 15 new airports, expressways and multi-modal transport junctions are being planned by the government

The BJP’s resurgence in Uttar Pradesh in the assembly polls conducted earlier this year has huge implications for the state which hasn’t done developmental justice to the massive pool of natural resources and manpower it possesses. Yogi Adityanath has clamped down on criminals improving the law and order situation to some extent, and is now pushing for much greater investments and infrastructural growth in the state.

As part of a multi-crore investment push, the Yogi-led government is now aiming to give Noida and Greater Noida a major infrastructure boost. Big industrial hubs, 15 new airports, expressways and multi-modal transport junctions are being planned by the government. Other than the obvious advantages that these projects will have for the local populace, they will also attract foreign investors and corporate houses.

“A big investment summit is scheduled on February 20 and 21 next year to showcase to potential investors what the state has done, be it fast-moving expressways, regional connectivity in terms of opening 15 new airports, special thrust on curbing crime and improving output in agriculture, blending technology with innovations,” said Siddharth Nath Singh who is Uttar Pradesh’s health minister.

A summit for investors will be held in the state. It is expected to draw thousands of crores of investment from representatives from South Korea, Japan, US and UK. Yogi Adityanath will also be making trips abroad to attract investors. He is expected to visit the US in February next year.

Anup Chandra Pandey, Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure and industrial development commissioner said, “The entire western UP landscape is set to change. The entire Yamuna Expressway is up as a perfect case for transit-oriented development. And in all this, Noida and Greater Noida are the top beneficiaries, along with six or seven other major towns falling along the major expressways in operation or under planning stage in UP.”

The government is planning the Purvanchal Expressway which will link Delhi to Bihar from Noida by crossing three expressways. This is expected to reduce the journey to less than 10 hours which currently takes 15-17 hours.Construction of the expressway will begin in March 2018 as nearly 80 per cent of private land is already acquired by the government.

With complete assistance from the Narendra Modi government at the centre and an honest and bold Adityanath government in the state, one can safely assume that Uttar Pradesh will speed along the path of development. If almost 17% of the country’s population residing in Uttar Pradesh can grow and develop then one can imagine it will impact the whole country’s growth.
